AFAC LCC

Alberta Farm Animal Care invites you to apply for the AFAC student mentorship program at the 2021 Livestock Care Conference (LCC)

BENEFITS OF SPONSORSHIP

Students are able to gain experience and comprehension from this partnership that is unique to this event and industry. Additionally, students can become aware of career opportunities in the industry or related areas in animal agriculture that may not have been available otherwise.

Students are also invited to attend the ‘Meet the Experts’ virtual session on the afternoon of Wednesday, March 3 at 12:00 PM.
Sponsorship includes conference registration, a mailed student package, and free entry to all workshops.

HOW STUDENTS CAN APPLY

Alberta Farm Animal Care will pair student delegates with sponsor organizations through a competition process during which students will enter a short submission on the topic of how the livestock industry can continue to evolve and improve it’s livestock welfare practices.

Submissions can be in the form of a short essay ( maximum 1,000 words) or a short audio/video recording (maximum 5 minutes). The submission should include professional goals and a discussion of how participation in LCC will advance professional skills, contacts, and knowledge with regard to a particular commodity group (or species) and the field of animal care/welfare.

Essays can either be submitted via email to Melissa Moggy at [email protected] or online below.
Applications should include your full name, post-secondary institution, and highlight all of the information in the paragraph above. Previous sponsored students may apply again. Deadline for applications is February 10, 2021 and you will be notified if you are accepted no later than February 15, 2020.
